Gulf Architecture Conference and Exhibition at Qatar National Library
From 10 to 13 October 2019, Qatar National Library held an international conference and exhibition on Gulf architecture, organised in collaboration with Liverpool University’s School of Architecture, Qatar University’s Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, and Ibrahim Jaidah, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Architect, Arab Engineering Bureau. The exhibition, which opened on 10 October, remained up for the rest of the month.
The project’s conference brought together some of the world’s leading experts on Gulf architecture to present their latest work, share their expertise and attend the project’s exhibition. The exhibition presented regional urbanism, landscape, infrastructure and architecture in the Gulf from a multi-scale perspective and identified common traits and idiosyncrasies. Sub-sections identified country-specific natural and man-made environments, settlement and dwelling patterns, building types and infrastructure systems.
